WaynesvilleLive.com, a local Web site that has been voluntarily created and designed by Waynesville residents, is already receiving thousands of hits a month from more than 70 different countries and is ranked No. 1 on Google out of 16 million sites for Local Chat, as well as, in the top 10 for Live Cam Community.
The idea for the Web site was conceived by Waynesville couple Robert and JoLynn Bryant more than two years ago. They finally began designing the Web site in November 2003 and have been diligently working at improving it ever since. Their vision is to create an online interactive community for the local area that would bring residents and local businesses together — a place where people could learn more about their community and their neighbors, meet a few friends and even voice their own ideas and opinions, all coupled with the entertainment of Live Cams. Hence the name, WaynesvilleLive.com.
“The site offers Live Cams from around Western North Carolina and will soon have cams in downtown Waynesville and in several local businesses. The intent is certainly not to intrude, but to entertain and bring awareness to our beautiful mountains and resources,” said site creator JoLynn Bryant.
“The local community and the rest of the world will be able to watch what is happening in Waynesville and WNC right from their homes. There is also a webcam portal where anybody from around our area can add their home cam, street cam and business cam. We even show you how to do it.”
“We have great online games, add your event calendars, diversified news stories, free e-mails, free classifieds, picture galleries and much much more. We just do not know how much more information and entertainment you can cram into one place but if you have any ideas, photos, poems, recipes or article you would like to share with the community just post it to the Waynesville Live Message Forum and we will see it.”
