Spring into Action

Matt Mittan, Campaign Coordinator

Our goal is to help build a new home for a deserving family devastated by last falls flooding. Many people across the mountains were forever impacted by the historic flooding events of 2004. Most families were able to receive some assistance, either through government aid, non-profit groups or their neighbors. Unfortunately, some families fell through the cracks and are still suffering untold amounts. That's where Spring Into Action comes in.

We are committed to facilitating a grass-roots, private sector driven campaign to turn the lives around of one such family. We are confident in our communities ability to step forward and make a difference, while instilling new hope in so many more. There are lot's of ways to help in this effort. This page is your "Central Command" to find out what is needed, who is helping and where you can fill a void.

Thank you for deciding to help make a difference in the lives of a deserving family here in western North Carolina!

Matt,

Bryant Painting would like to volunteer as the painting contractor on your, "Spring into Action" campaign.

Do you have a location for the house designated yet?

What else do you need?

Please keep us updated on this project. I am sure there are many Waynesville and Haywood County residents who would love to get involved!

You know, Jo, I was thinking.  [I do manage to do that from time to time.] Perhaps this would be a great opportunity to get WLive members involved and get some publicity  out of it also.  Could we, perhaps, gather together as many people who are willing and everyone work one entire weekend on the house?  We could wear WLive t-shirts and it would really be fun and we could walk away feeling good about helping someone in need.

Just my opinion.

Hi Matt,
When I hit your link, I'm getting an "underconstruction" message.  Same thing when I ran it through a search engine.  I'd like to help this family, if I can.
