What the hell?
« on: Aug 24, 2005, 11:26:48 PM »

Did anyone else's house shake like it was hit by a sonic boom tonight, anbout 11:20 pm?

Very weird, and we couldn't find a source for the disturbance.

We felt our house shake as well. The news said it was an earthquake.

That is incredible!
Today was the first day of school for the kids so we all went to bed early last night, however, we were suddenly startled awake about that time last night. We wrote it off as something else and went back to sleep. Wish I had realized....
Did anyone report on it last night?
When was the last time we had an earthquake in this area? Does anyone know? Bob Caldwell was really excited this morning describing the plates in the earth and how they move.

It would have occured during the news broadcast, as it was about 11:05 pm or so.

There is an article about it in the asheville citizen times today.

(they have it online as well...)

Thanks Gareee!

We have already added a link on our first page to report this unusual event to local residence. Thank you for keeping us informed and so quickly I might add!

Here is the link to the article in the Ashville Citizen Times:
