Made the drive into Asheville and back before sunup. Lots of slush, but generally passable. So long as the temps stay up and they keep the roads cleared we'll be OK.

we got an inch of snow last night which has all turned to slush due to sleet. we have ice all over the place though, and our power keeps flickering - branches drooping down all over our line. meep.

I'd keep an eye on the forecast, Garee - we're expecting more snow/sleet/rain/garbage starting tomorrow morning.

yeah, the news is now saying snow/sleet/garbage starting tonight some time, through Wednesday evening.... 2-4" in Asheville, 6"+ in elevation above 3500 feet.
I guess UPS isn't going to deliver the camera that's supposed to be here Wednesday, which is realllllllly bumming me out.

Incredibly, our postman has only missed 2 days this season and we live on the back side of Pinnacle Mountain at about 3000 feet. Maybe UPS will make it after all.
Wayne, that looked like a blast. Thanks for the video. Tell Jackie I like her new haircut. Of course, it may not be new....it's been a while since I have seen her in person. LOL
Kids are praying for lots of snow. They are hoping for school to be called off but I'm not sure why. They get so "BORED" here at home. LOL

Yeah, we'll see. I think the last time we had even a trace of snow on the ground, te UPS driver actually called us and asked if we would meet him at the bottom of our road. My husband said, "sure, I'll be right there with my 2 wheel drive car..." LOL That's not even the first time they've acted like they didn't want to come up our road, either... the time before that, the weather was fine and they called up claiming our road was too narrow for their truck to be able to make it *eyeroll* I told the guy in the almost 8 years we've lived here, that was the first time I'd heard that one, and no one else has ever not been able to get up here from UPS. All that's happened in the last 5 months or so - I think we got stuck with a new lazy driver.
In other news, I'm really wondering if the snow has missed us altogether! Mitchel and Madison counties have both canceled school - we've got exactly nothing going on at my house... just gray skies and wind. I can handle it!

Well, it looks like it's my turn. We missed the one last week by a mere 5 miles, what I mean by this is 5 miles off the coast there were blizzard conditions but all we had on the Island was a couple flakes, weird isn't it. But the snow is coming down now and the forcast calls for 12 to 18. Not so lucky this time around.

We are getting some now.. 60% chance of snow for the next 12 hours.
Least this time its during the day, and in the midle of a week, instead of right as a weekend begins.

It's blowing around here, too - so far just tiny flakes, and the wind is mostly keeping it from sticking. It's been going on for over a couple of hours already, and no new accumulation to speak of. I'm wishing my ice skating rink of a driveway will cooperate with the UPS guy getting here later. Surely if my husband was able to make it up to our house at 7am, the UPS guy will, too this afternoon.
